Victory Promotions presents: Battle of the North
Claire Clements (The Faktory) will take on Ralista Andreeva (Aberdeen Muay Thai) in a 65kg B-Class Muay Thai bout on 25th June at the Scotswood Sports Centre in Newcastle. Claire is no stranger to the ring, she currently holds a WBC title and is looking to make her come back on home soil.
I had a quick catch up with Claire to see how she is feeling about her upcoming bout, training and her future plans and this is what she said about it: “I’m looking forward to the fight. Even more so that its on home turf in Newcastle. Ralista is a tough opponent and I know she’ll bring her fight with her. It feels great to be back in the ring, time out wasn’t based on choice just difficulty getting matched but a few fights seem to be in the pipeline after this fight too so very exciting times! I’m loving my training, it never stops really but just intensifies leading up to a fight. I have a fantastic coach in Jim Burn and great support at the Faktory which makes ‘fight camp’ that much better. On a plus note, I have managed to spend more of my time coaching along with my own training during this ‘quiet patch’. In regards to my future in the ring, I just take every day as it comes. I train for every fight as though it’s my hardest fight so I have no disappointment in my performances (win or lose). In conclusion – I can’t wait to step in the ring again”
She was lovely to have a chat with and is very humble, we will be heading over to The Faktory next week to do an interview with her and will be posting it to our youtube channel!
Ralista will be making the journey down from Aberdeen for this bout but, just like Claire, she is no stranger to bringing her A-game to her fights and giving the crowd something to go mad over! This is set to be an absolute cracker of a fight, I am sure that both of these fighters will bring and leave everything in the ring on 25th June.
We managed to catch a few minutes from Ralista to see how her training camp is at the moment and how she got into the sport: “Training is going well. I am getting ready with the help my coaches andrew rose, allan strachan and Ronie and my team mates as well. I am very looking forward to fight again. I started to do Thai boxing around 3 years ago but I had many breaks. I personally consider the start of proper Thai last summer. I enjoy it so much. The gym I train in is called Granite fight factory, every one there is very supportive and friendly. I am officially in a fight camp , very excited about the fight”
