Alex MacGregor to face Reece McAllister at the Lee Smith Memorial Show

After announcing an early retirement to move to Jersey to coach last year, Reece McAllister returned home to County Durham just 10 months after leaving and announced his return to fighting.

Naturally, the Victory matchmaking team were hot on the heels of “Dad’s Lad” to secure his maiden return fight. After securing and announcing the former GLORY fighter will return at the Lee Smith Memorial Show, the work began to find a suitable opponent.

Alex MacGregor

Alex, who is originally from Edinburgh, currently fights out of Sutai Muay Thai in Thailand and has quickly become a force to be reckoned with in the 67kg division.

The young Scotsman recently beat Kriangchai of PKSaenchaimuaythaigym via round two TKO at MX Muay Xtreme. Other notable fights include an extremely close decision loss to Spanish WMC Champion, Nauzet Trujillo, who beat Reece McAllister via stoppage in the second round at Time to Fight in February last year.

With fellow Scots Roan Morrison and Nico Carrillo already matched against English opponents, Alex now makes it a triple-header of England vs Scotland which will surely have the Scottish fans travelling to the north east in numbers, but can he upset the odds against the 2014 TopKing World Series Champion, Reece McAllister? Find out at the Lee Smith Memorial Show 2nd December, Gateshead Leisure Centre.

Through this community we find ourselves within a unique brotherhood. – Alex MacGregor
